We’re Hiring: Paid Mentorship + Coaching Opportunity
About Avos Strength:
Avos Strength is a strength and conditioning company rooted in commitment, clarity, and excellence. Our approach is highly individualized, combining education, athletic insight, and long-term development — because we believe training isn’t just about working out, it’s about building a lifestyle:
Train. Play. Repeat.
We’re currently looking for a sharp, motivated coach-in-training to join our team. Someone who’s eager to learn our systems, grow into their own coaching style, and be part of a supportive, experienced, and fast-growing environment.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re an excellent fit if you’re currently pursuing a degree in kinesiology or a related field, and are excited to learn through experience. You’re also someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, client-focused space and can balance coaching with admin or content tasks as needed.
Requirements
Enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of a Kinesiology or related degree program
PT Certification and valid training insurance* (not required but recommended)
Certified in First Aid & CPR
Strong attention to detail — you'll help build and maintain our digital exercise library
Confident with basic admin tools (Google Drive, Canva, TrainHeroic, etc.)
Previous coaching experience is an asset but not required
Bonus: Athletic background (collegiate/varsity preferred); boxing or martial arts experience is a plus
Bonus: Interest or skill in social media and content creation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Time management and organizational skills
Committed to personal training, lifelong learning, and setting an example through your own fitness
Your Role
Shadow and learn from our head coach during a 1–2 month paid mentorship (length depends on experience and readiness)
Gradually transition to 1-on-1 coaching, guiding clients through personalized programs
Assist with content management — uploading, labeling, and organizing exercise videos
Support with occasional social media content (form demos, quick clips, training day posts)
Eventually write training programs as you gain experience and independence
Work with a diverse client base including athletes, general population, and active rehab clients
Part-time role with flexible scheduling — starting at ~3–5+ hours per week
Future Path
We invest in our coaches long-term. The right fit will:
Complete their degree and register as a Kinesiologist
Ideally pursue a CSCS certification
Continue developing technical coaching skills and leadership within the team
Why Work With Us?
Paid mentorship that sets you up for real coaching success
No sales quotas — unlike many large gyms, you’re here to coach, not pitch
Competitive wages with room to grow ($18/hr for mentorship phase, $25+/hr for coaching, depending on experience)
Real-world coaching exposure with technical mentorship from a coach with over a decade of experience
Supportive environment where you’re treated as a person, not just a position
Opportunities for creative work in admin and content if you’re interested
Location
Avos Strength operates out of 909 West Broadway — a convenient, professional, and transit-friendly location in Vancouver.
